Peanut Butter and Jelly Cake
Ingredients
½ cup peanut butter
1 cup water
2 sticks butter
2 cups flour
2 cups sugar
1 tbs. baking soda
2 eggs
½ cup butter milk
Preparation
1. In a large mixing bowl mix flour, sugar, and baking soda
2. In a (1) qt. pan bring peanut butter, water, and butter to a rapid boil. Pour over dry ingredients and mix together. Add 2 eggs and ½ cup butter milk, mix well.
3. Grease and flour (2) 8 ½ x 8 ½ x 1 ½ aluminum pans for (1) cake or jelly roll pan for (2) thinner cakes.
4. Bake @ 350 20-25 min. or inserted toothpick comes out moist
5. Cool cakes, remove from pans
6. On one layer spread ½ - ¾ cup "WELCHS" Grape Jelly
7. Place other layer on top, trim (2) corners and make an indentation on each side to look like sliced bread. Frost top with (1) cup cream cheese frosting. Frost the top only. Cut diagonally to look like sliced sandwich.
